Taking on the big dogs of Oxford Street and co, Battersea Power Station are lighting up for Christmas.
Whilst Battersea Power Station won’t be fully refurbished and open to the public until 2020, they’re doing their bit to add some festive cheer to the Thames. Starting from tomorrow (Saturday 4th November), the two riverside chimneys will be lighting up for the first time since the grand old station underwent restoration.
The first lighting is coinciding with the Battersea Park fireworks display, but they’ll continue to be lit every evening until Christmas. Testing began yesterday evening ahead of the big launch, and we reckon they’re looking pretty swish!
For now, only the front two chimneys will be illuminating the night sky, but fingers crossed the rest of the building might eventually receive the same treatment. Head on down to Battersea Park fireworks display this weekend for the big switch on, which will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday. You can pick up your tickets here!
