A new contender appears in London’s festival calendar – and this is a big’un.
Just a few days after Field Day Festival revealed they were leaving Victoria Park for a mystery new location, we’ve discovered the reason why – a whopping great ten-day event is popping up in its place, run by the team behind Hyde Park’s British Summertime.
Christened ‘All Points East‘, the first edition will run from May 25 to June 3 next year. (The exact format is confusing, to say the least: it actually consists of a three-day ‘proper’ festival, followed by four days of community entertainment, followed by three big London concerts ‘presented by’ the festival.)
The XX are headling the festival part with Popcaan and Lykke Li also playing, while The National are top of the bill at the first of the three concerts, with Future Islands and The War On Drugs in support.
Tickets for the XX are on sale November 3, while tickets for The National are on sale this Friday, October 27. I told you it was confusing!
(No word on whether Lovebox and Citadel will be moving from Victoria Park, either…)
