To celebrate National Afternoon Tea week (14th – 20th August), Kew Gardens is throwing a magical, Wonderland-themed tea party.
Throughout most of August, you can head to The Botanical Restaurant at Kew Gardens for tea with the characters from Lewis Carroll’s timeless story. Feast on Cheshire Cat’s finger sandwiches, the Queen of Hearts’ cherry scones served with English jam and clotted cream, The Mad Hatter’s mini tea cakes, The White Rabbit’s pocket watch macarons, as well as jam tarts and so much more.
The Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea is available at The Botanical Restaurant from 2.30pm–6pm, Monday to Thursday and 2.30pm–7pm, Friday to Sunday (until August 27th). It costs £32.50 per person and you can book a slot here.
Besides the tea and cake, there’s also a chance to catch a spectacular performance from the Australian Shakespeare Company in the garden grounds. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole into a wonderful world of colourful costumes, interactive games, and a number of catchy songs. Find out more about the performances and book here.
