Ice skate inside one of London’s most iconic buildings.
We’ve reached the best time of the year when London is officially in full festive swing. And what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with a trip to Alexandra Palace’s very own ice rink? Offering a backdrop unlike any other, it’s the best spot this month to glide into the festive season, a la Emilia Clarke in Last Christmas.
The ice rink at Alexandra Palace is open all year round but December is undeniably the best time to visit, with a number of chilled out and advanced sessions each day.
Saturday night sees the ice rink turn into a dance floor, with funky lighting and chart hits mixed by Ally Pally’s resident DJ. The Ice Disco takes place every Saturday from 8:30 to 11pm, and there’s also a monthly appearance from legendary London DJs Club de Fromage.
If you get peckish, there’s a lovely little café on site, offering all sorts of hot and cold snacks. It’s open Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 8pm–10pm.
Check out the website for up to date info and opening times. Come and visit Alexandra Palace Ice Rink between 22 December and 5 January for more skating sessions than ever before.
