See mind-bending illusions up close and personal at the swanky new Abandoned Room.
London has gained a whole new experience next week: call it the Luxury Dumbfounding, the Boutique Bamboozlement, or the Opulent Hornswaggle. That’s because telly-famous magician Dynamo is opening a cosy new theatre, especially for magic, in the top-notch Mandrake Hotel. [Photo: Rich Hardcastle]
Hosting just 96 people in the audience, this ‘magician’s speakeasy’ is intended to allow world-famous illusionists to create whole new experiences in an intimate environment. ‘It’s in spaces like this,’ says Dynamo, ‘where we can really create a sense of disbelief and astonishment that hasn’t been felt before.’
The performer hopes to invite the A-list of magical talent from around the world to perform in this seductive new space, but he’s kicking things off with his own super-exclusive show, Times Are Gone For Honest Men, with just 20 performances starting November 15.
Arena-filling talent in a top-hat sized theatre don’t come cheap; standard tickets are £95, which runs all the way up to £1,500 for a package including dinner and an overnight hotel stay. But these tricks are set to be a real treat – prepare to be amazed.
