We all love the holiday season, and there are certainly no Grinches at Secret London. But (and this is a big but.. the Kim Kardashian of big but(t)s in fact) sometimes spending time with the family can be extremely hard work. Here’s some inspiration on how you should keep yourself entertained at the end of December… filling the weird void between Christmas and New Years and giving yourself a break from your excruciatingly irritating (but no less lovely and wonderful) family.
1. BUMP Roller Disco
Ice skating is the official Christmas sporting activity for wobbling around on skates and grazing your knees (probably). But if you’re too much of a Bambi to take to the ice then why not try a different type of gliding around a rink? Think weekend DJs, retro disco-ball bar and sparkly rollerblades as you skate smoothly around a funky, neon-lit rink… Groovy baby!

2. Go for a walk
It’s time to walk it off Londoners! Like it or not, you’ve probably consumed about 700,0000 calories over the past few days so it’s time to put on your walking boots and fill your lungs with crisp fresh air. The perfect way to fill the void between Christmas and New Years (and surround yourself with wonderful views)! Here are our favourite winter walks for you to embark on!
3. Dinner and a movie at Roxy Bar and Screen
Okay so you’ve probably eaten enough food and watched enough movies this Christmas to last you a life time. Butttt, Roxy Bar and Screen is the perfect mix between classic comfort food and vibrant cult cinema. Buy your tickets for the absolutely fabulous screening of Absolutely Fabulous complete with delicious dinner for £14 from Fever.
128-132 Borough High St, London SE1 1LB
4. Comedy Night at 99 Club in Leicester Square
Have you got the post Christmas blues? Laughter is the best medicine for that so perk yourself up, put on your most ridiculous jumper and head down to Leicester Square for some side-cracking comedy! With a great line up of comedians including regulars on 8 out of 10 Cats, Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, we promise we’re not name dropping but we’re also sure your favourite celebrity would LOVE this show! Plus, with tickets only £12.50 this event is sure to tickle your funny bone. Get your tickets here.

5. Junkyard Golf Club
Another ‘sporty’ one (we’re just trying to help your belly lose it’s jelly like consistency)! Junkyard Golf Club is fun, punky and wonderfully colourful. Think obstacles of jacuzzis, slides, speed boats, wendy houses, cows and treadmills as you navigate your way around this exciting course. With four bars and legendary street food traders Barts Dog Kart, you can swing your day away in this East London gem.
The Old Truman Brewery, Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Ln, London E1 6QL
6. Boxing Day Sales
For some, this may be the equivalent of suggesting you stick your face into a pan of boiling oil or perhaps slice the skin off your fingers with a cheese grater but for others, the sales that start at Boxing Day onwards are an annual tradition. If you’re feeling brave (or slightly mad) why not tackle Oxford Street or Westfields shopping malls at Shepherd’s Bush or Stratford – just make sure you’re wearing your battle armour!
7. Pizza and bottomless booze
Surely you won’t need too much persuading on this one! Continue the Christmas gluttony with hot, cheesy, delicious pizza and unlimited beer, wine and prosecco… yours at Pizzabuzz in Shoreditch for £29.95. Just try not to get so drunk that you start singing. That’s amore! Get your tickets here.
Alphabeta Building, 2 Worship St, London EC2A 2AH
8. Ice Skating
A great woman once said that ‘ice skating is the official Christmas sporting activity for wobbling around on skates and grazing your knees (probably).’ Inspired by such wise words, we suggest you slide on over to one of London’s most fabulous ice skating rinks because, quite frankly, they’re cool AF.
