Whether you like it mixed into ice cream or filling a brownie, we’ve lined up six of the best places in London where you can get your fix, from local bakeries to upmarket restaurants. Tell everyone you know – there are some secrets that are simply too good not to be shared…
1. Peanut Butter “Sandwich” @ Spuntino, Soho
Thought the classic PB&J sandwich couldn’t get any better? It just did. At Spuntino in Soho, ordering a peanut butter sandwich won’t get you two slices of Hovis white but instead two triangles of peanut butter ice cream filled with a deliciously tangy homemade cherry jam. They don’t take reservations but this dessert alone makes the inevitable half-hour wait for a seat at the counter totally worth it.

2. Peanut Butter & Berry Doughnut @ Crosstown Doughnuts, various locations
Thanks to us, you already know where to get the best doughnuts in London but what we failed to mention first time round was this little dreamboat. Topped with a thick indulgent peanut butter glaze, filled with a homemade, tangy blackcurrant compote and finished with crumbled peanuts, it’s pretty much all your childhood fantasies rolled into one.

3. Peanut Butter Concrete @ Shake Shack, multiple locations
Oozing, sweet, indulgent and…readily available: this is food porn at its finest. The option of creating your own Concrete at Shake Shack means you can exercise your creative talent – and there’s no skimping on the peanut butter. Try mixing the chocolate and vanilla custard ice cream with peanut butter sauce and hazelnut brown butter streusel – you won’t regret it. (Unless you care about your waistline – then you probably will).

4. Peanut Butter Cookie Brownie Cup @ Bittersweet Bakers, order online
If the choice between a cookie and a brownie is too much for you, then don’t worry, you’ve no longer got to make it. This is a peanut butter cookie baked inside a brownie cup. In other words, it’s the best hybrid eat ever invented. Delivered straight to your door from their kitchen in Central London, Bittersweet Bakers are there to cater to all your peanut butter-filled urges, wherever and whenever they should arise…
5. Fudgy Peanut Butter Cup Layer Cake @ Rubys, Greenwich Market
Quite how this can be gluten-free and vegan we do not know; all we do know is that it tastes pretty sublime. Chocolate fudge cake and peanut butter buttercream are topped with chocolate drizzle and chunks of fudge… Who said vegans weren’t naughty too? You can find Ruby at Greenwich Market every Saturday & Sunday: 10am – 5pm.

6. Peanut Butter Cupcake @ Primrose Bakery, Primrose Hill and Covent Garden
The Primrose Bakery cupcakes are so good that we’ve written about them before (and the term ‘better-than-sex’ may have been used)… For this nutty affair, peanut sponge is topped with sweet milk chocolate icing and peanut butter flavoured chocolate drops. Think Reese’s cups…in cupcake form. You can thank us later.
