5 Ways To Celebrate The Launch Of The Night Tube In London

After having an extra year waiting on the arrival of the Night Tube, it’s safe to say London’s been building up to one hell of an all-nighter! Here’s something for the nocturnal amongst you, not TfL is on your side.

1. Edits Disco Night at Queen of Hoxton

[Queen of Hoxton]
Head to the Queen of Hoxton Saturday 20th August for Edits – a party paying homage to all ends of the disco spectrum with funky undertones, inspired by the lights, sounds and vibes of a 1970s New York Loft Disco and the Soul Train era. Provider of beats this evening include Payfone, mind-blowing disco edit specialist, and DJ Format, funk-ridden producer and crisp cuts connoisseur! What better way to stay up all night than while disco dancing (and we’re not talking about the cheesy disco nights your dad would be up for. Unless your dad is particularly funky and fresh, that is). Entry is £5 and can be bought through Fever.

Nearest Night Tube Station: Liverpool Street | Central line.

1 Curtain Rd, EC2A 3JX

2. Sneak at XOYO

Who says late night partying has to happen at the weekend? Now the Night Tube’s here, you can party on a Tuesday if you want to. And XOYO are providing that weekday party with Sneak. Having hosted some of the UK’s hottest DJs in 2015, including special guest appearances from the likes of DJ SKT, Danny Howard, Blonde, 99 Souls alongside amazing residents, 2016 looks no different for Sneak. It’s time to re-live your student days (and join a host of up-for-it students) for some seriously good underground house. Entry is £6.50 can be bought in advance on Fever here.

For an all-nighter with a little more sophistication, Second Home’s innovative and gorgeously quaint East London bookshop, Libreria, is holding an all-night event this Friday 19th August to celebrate the launch of the Night Tube. The event will run between 8pm and 8am the next day, providing nocturnal Londoners with a free night of book readings, music, film and – wait for it – whiskey tasting. There will also be bagels and poetry at the crack of dawn, all completely free to the public.

This quirky late night cocktail bar is situated just north of Oxford Circus, so is the perfect place to have an evening (or early morning) tipple to celebrate the launch of the Night Tube.
