Tickets for London’s incredible NYE firework display may be sold out but you still can get front row seats of that sought-after view of the Thames. These restaurants all have pretty enviable views, if you’re willing to go a bit nuts and splurge this New Year’s Eve.
1. Babylon at The Roof Gardens
High above Kensington (well, 7 floors high) lies The Babylon. They’re making New Year’s Eve one hell of a night, complete with Champagne, a four-course meal, unlimited wine and beer, entry to the The Club and (our favourite part!) breakfast canapés served in the early hours of 2017! At £250 a head, it doesn’t come cheap… but if you’re willing to splurge a bit at the end of the year, then the views will help make it worthwhile. Just remember to take lots of pictures (and drink as much wine as you deem necessary!)
2. The Blueprint Cafe
You’ll find The Blueprint Cafe, quite fittingly, on top of the London Design Museum. Right on the Thames, with views looking towards Tower Bridge, you’re unlikely to find a more uninterrupted view for New Year’s Eve. They offering a three-course menu for £85 per head. Once dinner’s over, guests can set sail west down the river on The Erasmus, where you can watch the midnight fireworks with nothing getting in your way… Well, other than the £200 ticket to board the boat.
3. Coq d’Argent
Your head will be left spinning once you experience the 360 views from the roof gardens of Coq d’Argent. Set in the heart of the city, the restaurant is putting on quite the show this New Year’s Eve, complete with a luxury 5-course menu, live music from some of London’s finest jazz performers and a firework display of their own! So you won’t need to compete with any crowds to get your fix of colour and smoke.
4. Galvin at Windows
You’ll find this Michelin-star restaurant high on the 28th floor of the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane. Don’t be surprised if you’re on the same level as the fireworks shooting off! To experience these panoramic views of London, however, you need to be willing to pay at least £100 per person. But that shouldn’t be too difficult at Galvin at Windows, with a 5-course meal on offer…
5. Oxo Tower Restaurant, Brasserie and Bar
The iconic building on the Southbank is throwing a party to remember this NYE, which is sure to send the year off with OXO hugs and kisses. Here, you can choose to eat off either a 3-course set menu or a special à la Carte, so the amount you choose to spend is more flexible than most restaurants. So it’s time to put on your favourite frock or dinner jacket, swing to some fantastic live music, look out across the rooftops of London and enter 2017 feeling the most glamorous you have all year… which probably isn’t too much of a task.
