6 Fantastic Places In London To Find Your 24-Hour Food Fix
It’s 4am and – for whatever reason – you’re hopelessly roaming the dark streets London for a bite to eat.
We’ve all been there. So whether you’ve had a big night and you need something to help you sober up, or you simply can’t sleep, we’ve found the perfect open-all-hours establishments to satisfy your stomach no matter how late it is…
1. Polo Bar (Bishopsgate)
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you, you really can order this tableful of calorific goodness 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All you need to do is head to East London’s infamous Polo Bar, it’s been open since 1953, and it’s the perfect pitstop for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in-between. While it doesn’t look like much from outside, inside you’ll find a veritable Aladdin’s cave of 24/7 delights. Take a look at our full article for more mouthwatering info, or just have a gander at their website.
You’ll find Polo Bar at 176 Bishopsgate, EC2M 4NQ.
2. Beigel Bake (Brick Lane)
Whenever we find ourselves near Brick Lane, we always make the trip to Beigel Bake to pick up one of these bad boys. Their legendary bagels are at their best when they’re eaten filled with hot salt beef, pickles and lashings of mustard. Although their smoked salmon and cream cheese offering shouldn’t be sniffed at. It’s open all the time so even though queues can get quite long on weekends, there’s no shortage of food on offer.
You’ll find Beigel Bake at 159 Brick Ln, E1 6SB.
3. Beigel Shop (Brick Lane)
‘Britains first and best’ reads the sign above Beigel Shop. The glaring grammatical error on their mustard-coloured sign is just one of the reasons that we’re not sure we quite agree. We must admit, we do nurse a soft spot for Beigel Shop’s next-door neighbour, but that’s not to say that Beigel Shop isn’t a good all-night option. Head to Brick Lane, take a bite of both, and decide for yourself.
You’ll find Beigel Shop at 155 Brick Ln, E1 6SB.
4. Duck and Waffle (Bishopsgate)
Head up to the 40th floor for a 24-hour restaurant like no other. Ideally located for any of you partying at fabric once you and your mates decide it’s time for a post-lash, food feast pick-me-up. This place doesn’t disappoint when it comes to food with a view. Trust us, their late night menu will certainly sort you out.
You’ll find Duck & Waffle on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, 110 Bishopsgate, EC2N 4AY.
5. VQ Restaurants (multiple locations)
The VQ group is always a reliable option for some late night grub if you’re ever at a loose end. Not only do they have four locations accross London – so you’ll never be too far from one – they also offer 24 hour breakfast for whenever you’re craving smashed avo’ on toast. Take a look at each of the location’s web pages (linked below) for more menu details and info.
6. Bar Italia (Soho)
Ok, this place isn’t quite 24/7, but we had to include it because it very very nearly hits the mark. Open Monday – Saturday 7am-5am (we’ll give them that two-hour grace period) and Sunday 7am-12am (well Sunday is the day of rest). Bar Italia has been a Soho late-night staple since 1949, serving up classic Italian food and cocktails in a buzzy atmosphere. Go and grab a pizza the action!
You’ll find Bar Italia at 21 Frith Street, Soho, W1D 4RN.
