It’s a well known fact that London can sometimes get us all down but as a whole, it really isn’t such a bad place!
1. Most importantly, London has ALL the food.
Being such a cultural melting pot, London literally caters to every cuisine and diet.
2. The public transport!
Yes, it may get extremely claustrophobic at times and you may have an armpit shoved in your face if you happen to be shorter than 5ft, but it’s ridiculously easy to get around!
3. There’s such a buzz
Nobody stops and it’s stupidly busy at times but hey, the hustle and bustle is what keeps us alive right?
4. There’s lots of free things to do
London has a reputation for being expensive but there’s actually a load of stuff to do for FREE. Galleries such as Tate Britain and Tate Modern require no admission fee at all and the British, Natural History and Science museums are all free of charge too! Who said culture comes at a price, eh?
5. So. Many. Pubs.
Fancy a pint? Or perhaps a sophisticated cocktail? London is literally brimming with great pubs and bars for after work chill time.
6. Weird and wonderful travel options!
We have Santander bikes which you can rent for as little as £2! And your Oyster card even gets you onto the Thames Clippers and the Emirates Air Line cable cars – the perfect Instagram opportunities.
7. There’s so many places to shop
All your shopping needs are more than catered for; think Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Westfield shopping centres and Harrods, as well as streets upon streets dedicated to using up that all that money you probably don’t have…
8. There’s amazing architecture
We often miss it all when we’re constantly running around, but London is home to The Shard, The Gherkin and some amazing older buildings such as Liberty…
9. London has the best summers (no, we’re not kidding)
The hotter months in London may mean the commuter trains get a lot busier and sweatier, but London really does come alive in the summer. Day festivals, outdoor markets and parks are always a good idea, and London is full of them.
10. Sundays really are fun days
Sunday blues? You’re sure to find something to do in one of the many markets London has to offer on a Sunday afternoon. Broadway Market and Columbia Road flower market (amongst other lesser known ones) are bound to fill your idle time with strolls, street food and savvy bargains.
11. There’s a great music scene
Is there a music artist that forgets to include us in their tour or gig list? No way! London and music go together like fish and chips, and places like the Brixton Academy, O2 and Roundhouse regularly have gigs and concerts to satisfy our ears.
12. It’s so easy to travel elsewhere (not that you’d want to, of course)
If you do get a little tired of London life, we have travel links to literally everywhere; Airports to take you away on a sunlit holiday and St. Pancras to whisk us away on a Eurostar adventure.
