Springtime in London is full of beautiful surprises. Fields of daffodils bloom in St James’s Park, Notting Hill blossom trees saturate our Instagram feeds, and the Chelsea townhouse wisteria makes us even more jealous we don’t live there. Well, it’s fair to say that the Kensington Palace grounds team has stepped things up a notch this year…

No less than 12,000 white bulbs have been planted to create the Princess Diana memorial garden and it’s blooming beautiful!

The memorial garden’s opening marks 20 years since Princess Diana’s tragic passing and we can’t think of a more elegant tribute. The garden features hundreds of Diana’s favourite flowers (white forget-me-nots) alongside many more white, pink, and purple blooms. The design is said to be inspired by her iconic style and graceful demeanour, and we can definitely see that coming through.

It’s currently free to walk around the gardens – which will be at their best until mid-May – so don’t miss out! In case you’re not already set on a jaunt to the palace, the accompanying exhibition is bound to convince you to commit. Diana: Her Fashion Story is currently open at Kensington Palace, showcasing some of the most iconic outfits Diana dared to wear.
