London’s Getting A Jersey Royal Potato Pop-Up (Yes, Seriously)

share on:

Just when you thought you’d seen it all (just a heads up, there will never come a time when Londoners have seen it all), they’ve gone and planned a pop-up dedicated entirely to potatoes. And not potatoes generally, but Jersey Royals. As pop-ups go, this one’s pretty exclusive.

For 2 days only, you can get your hands on a £3 cone of Jersey Royals smothered in Jersey butter, Jersey sea salt and mint. Dunk them into a choice of 3 different dips and learn all about the sacred potato while you scoff (yes, sacred). Farmer and TV Presenter, Jimmy Doherty, will be there talking about Jersey Royals; the Jersey Royal season, the importance of Jersey’s climate, and how these particular potatoes are the only root vegetable in the UK to carry Protected Designation of Origin Status.

You’ll find Just Jerseys in Covent Garden on 22 and 23 April, between 12-4pm. Head to their website for more info. (Yes, Jersey Royals have their own website).

Georgie lives in East London and has noticed that she's become slightly more hipster since moving to E1. She's a frequent visitor of trendy cafés and is all too familiar with the extortionate price of a coffee in the capital. She enjoys the finer things in life (like red wine on a school night and eating Ben and Jerry's straight from the tub) and hasn't quite grasped the concept of adulthood yet. She'll get there eventually but, until then, she'll continue to ring her parents for advice on how to manage her finances.
