Hold on to your flour dusted apron ties because Great British Bake Off is changing. A lot.

Let’s face it, we’re all still reeling from the fact that Mary Berry won’t be gracing our TV screens with her snazzy colourful blazers. Not to mention, Mel and Sue will no longer be sneaking bites of forgotten crusts as contestants nervously try to finish their intricate showstoppers.

Great British Bake Off just won’t ever be the same and since news of it moving to Channel 4 hit the headlines, we have all been nervously anticipating who could possibly take the reigns of the best baking show ever.

Cue the big announcements.

So who are they?

Sandi Toksvig is the co-founder of the Women’s Equality Party, a regular talk show panellist and QI host. Noel Fielding is a comedian and TV personality, best known for his appearances on The Mighty Boosh.

Prue Leith has also been named as Mary Berry’s replacement and will co-judge alongside remaining Paul Hollywood.

It’s a lot of change and at first, we didn’t like it.

Well, a lot of people didn’t like it.

The choices are somewhat… ummm… random but surely change is a good thing? The only thing we can do is tune in to see if this new take on the show is worth all the commotion.

And as former GBBO contestant Selasi Gbormittah has stated “We can’t knock it till we try it so we just have to wait and see what [Noel and Sandi] both have got to offer.”
